Dr.
Ritter graduated from Columbia University in New York with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He received his Doctorate
of Medicine from the University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha
Medical Honor Society. He performed his internship at New York University Medical Center and continued his residency
in Orthopedic Surgery at New York University Medical Center/Hospital for Joint Diseases. During that time he received
training in Pediatric Orthopedics at Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Ritter went on to complete a subspecialty fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York. He served as an Assistant Team Physician for the New York Jets, the New York Rangers and Hofstra University, Hunter College, and NYU athletic teams. He has extensive training and experience in the most innovative treatments for treating sports injuries and athletic trauma. He currently serves as a Team Physician for the St. Joseph's College athletic teams as well as several Long Island high school athletic teams.
Dr. Ritter is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and is a current member of the Suffolk County Medical Society and the New York State Medical Society. He is also an active fellow of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
Dr. Ritter has expertise in minimally invasive procedures including arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, and arthroscopic knee repair, including ACL reconstruction. He treats all types of extremity fractures, and is highly trained in all aspects of orthopedics including carpal tunnel syndrome, foot and ankle problems and total joint replacements. Having served on the Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation, Dr. Ritter utilizes the most current solutions for shoulder, hip and knee arthritis.
